JZIP - the free ZIP alternative....
How to install and setup:
- download the latest stabe version from here: Osgrid.org
or go to Opensimulator.org to get the latest subversion using “Tortoise SVN” and compile with “Visual C# Express 2010″. For Linux, Debian 5.0.3 is the best choice
- Create a “Openim” folder in “C:\”
- unpack .zip file to “OpenSim”
- Run opensim.exe in bin folder
- optional: create a .cmd fille in “c:\opensim\bin\” (pointing to .exe file)
- optional: create a shortcut on your desktop to the .cmd file, turn on “run as admin”
- Optional: install “MySQL” (download .ini files here. Works in Debian, not sure in Windows..)
.ini files for opensimulator with MySQL for Windows/Debian
Open Simulator can be used to build/test offline, no need to log in to “Second Life”, or go to sandboxes, with lag and greefers.
But als if you want a sim for FREE with osgrid servers…

My latest project I’m working with 3D studio Max and “windy Weather” script. (you can also use Gmax, see links) This script is Absolutely the best….!!!!! This script is WYSWYG (What you See is What You Get). Want to create object with hole? or a wedge? just select the object in 3ds and change parameters…. when you build it in-world, this object will be created exactly the same….just look at the pictures…
Please donate if you want to support this blog…
